Vietnam Sets 182 Constituencies for 2026 National Assembly Election

(MENAFN) Vietnam will establish a total of 182 constituencies nationwide for the upcoming election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly (NA), according to the parliament’s portal on Tuesday.

Under a resolution recently endorsed by NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man, both the constituencies and the number of deputies to be chosen have been finalized for all 34 provinces and centrally-administered cities across the country.

Ho Chi Minh City will hold the largest share, with 13 constituencies electing 38 deputies, followed by Hanoi, which will have 11 constituencies and 32 deputies.

As outlined in the NA’s resolution adopted on May 21, the election of deputies to the 16th NA and members of People’s Councils at every level for the 2026–2031 term is scheduled for March 15, 2026. The first session of the new parliament is expected to convene within 60 days after the vote.
